We are a full-service, not-for-profit, financial organization with over 22,000 members. We serve members who live, work, worship or go to school Erie or Niagara counties.
The credit union was founded in 1953 by a small group of employees of the former Hooker Chemical Company. In 1989 the credit union was renamed OxyChem Niagara Federal Credit Union to coincide with Hooker Chemical becoming Occidental Chemical (OxyChem). In 2004, OxyChem FCU became Niagara’s Choice FCU to better reflect the people we serve. The credit union then opened membership to all persons who live, work, and worship, volunteer or attend school in Niagara County. In 2022 our charter was expanded to allow us to serve Erie County.
Niagara’s Choice FCU, merged with Niagara County FCU in 2012 expanding to a 5 branch, $124 million, 50 employee credit union. In May of 2018 Niagara’s Choice merged again with the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center FCU, to create a now $250 million organization serving over 22,000 members, at our five branches.
